Love, Dan

Sunshine,

I am so excited to see your face when this is shown to you… Now where do I begin, I guess it is Happy Birthday, you have reached a major milestone and I am so lucky to be a part of your life for more than half of it.

I remember the first date, lunch by the ferry landing with Shell. It really was wonderful. We have had many great moments in time and happy memories. Together, watching our girls grow up, whether in dance or sports, they have brought countless smiles.

The reason I chose the picture of us in the kitchen is that we have spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking for others and are still happy doing so. If a couple can get along in the kitchen, they can stay together - usually too many cooks “spoil the stew”. But not us. Some of the first times we entertained, we were both in the kitchen, the silver salmon smothered in sour cream, prime rib, and countless pecan pies. If we can get along in the kitchen, we can do anything together.

I am looking forward to many more birthdays with you, by your side.

Love you most of all,
Dan

Happy Birthday, Mom! I hope you have a wonderful day! I know we have had ups and down, but at the end of the day, you are my only Mom and I am the luckiest person in the world to have you by my side. I would never dream for anything more. You have always been there to support me, especially during the hardest times of my life. And I will be forever grateful for your unconditional love.

Can't wait for another 60 years - we'll be there for you the whole time! 120, here comes my Mom!

Please know that Kam and I love and adore you!

Love,
Richelle & Kam

Mom,
It's impossible to put into words how much you mean to me - you're not only my Mom, but my best friend and confidante, my inspiration, role model, and the sun in my sky on gray days. There is not a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that you are in my life. Your unceasing smiles can brighten anyone's day and your creativity puts us all to shame :) I cherish our hours-long late night chats, unstoppable laughter and fun adventures. Thank you for everything you have taught me over the years; I'm certainly a better person because of you.

Happy Birthday! Cheers to another 60 years! And yes, even if I have to change your diaper one day (hehe) - every day with you is a blessing :)

Love,
Erika

Happy Birthday, Grandma! I'm lucky to have such a fun grandma who loves me. You always make me smile. I hope I get to see you soon - it's fun when you visit us in Portland!

Hope you do something as fun as the Great Wolf Lodge for your birthday!

Love you,
Kam

Thank you for welcoming me into your home over the years and sharing Erika with me. :)  It was always so nice to come "home" from college to your house for a while, relax and spend time with you and Dan!  I enjoyed spending 4th of July with you guys or just coming up for no reason at all but to say hello and get away from the busy city.

I hope your birthday is wonderful and filled with everyone that you love!  Have a great day!!

Love,
Autumn

Happy Birthday Koby! Wow, I can't believe we're both 60, how time flies, they say you're as young as you feel, so that makes us pretty darn YOUNG, doesn't it? First grade, OMG we have traveled many miles in our lives together and apart. Many years have come and gone, but so many memories remain. How can we forget our Halloween dressed as clowns, and poor Paul Bishop ( r.i.p.) couldn't figure out who we were & us not wanting to show our I.D. might have to pull that picture out & post. Many blessings to you and your awesome family, Richelle, I was there the day you were born, with Gma Barb, (getting emotional). I love you Koby, I know you know that, just wanted to say it again. Here's to many more birthdays and more visits, now that I retired, BIG SMOOCH.

Love,
Becki

Happy Birthday, Koby!

You were a joy to work with at the Market Stand. Lots of laughs, lots of hours of no customers in that first year, lots of boredom and wondering what the heck are we doing? But it was pleasure to be a part of a growing business with you and I miss those days we were together. Remember hauling water in buckets to water the plants, operating out of cash box, and writing all the transactions down on paper??? Remember getting a little tipsy on the bus at the NAFMDA conference? Have fun on your birthday. Remember 60 is now the new 40! And you don't look a day over 40! Take care.

Love ya, Susan Berentson

To My Dear Friend Koby … more commonly known as GOOK!

Who would have thought the first day after entering high school we would have hung around foreverYou have been terrific for me and to me all these years.  Waves of time have brought us back to shore together many times over, and each time was more sweet than the last.

Fun – your name represents that in multitudes.  You are always happy, carefree, inventive, creative, silly, outspoken once in a while, daring, accepting of any challenge and always challenging us, and of course, ALWAYS  looking for trouble.  You are terrific!

These kids today do not know what BFF really means until they actually spend years and years with their friends to watch them grow up to be really meaningful people, be the core of their family, and watch your friend support everyone around them.  Your hubby and girls are so lucky to have you – not for a split second would you let danger come to them, and you would stand ten feet tall to protect them.  You are truly an amazing person.

On the other hand, don’t let this go to your head – and try to stay level, or least only a bubble off center.  That’s the way we love you to be, and would not know what to do if you were not zany!   Personally, I plan to celebrate your birthday gigs for another 40 years plus.   You are awesome chick-a-dee!

Love you always,

Kelli Rae

Koby, 60 maybe, but still sassy and classy!  I can't tell you what our friendship has meant to me over the years~~~ starting way back when I was passin out "dumdums" @ the bank and Richelle was a regular customer who liked me very much!!! LOL  Trying to pick a favorite memory proved impossible as we have shared toooo many laughs and good times to count!!!  I especially loved it when you made your own "bridge" from your house to mine~~~it was over a little drainage ditch.  Worked just fine until the day you slipped with your white pants on!!! :)  Hope your day is a very special one, like YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KOBY PETERSON!!!  Love ya!

Love, Maddie

Happy Birthday, Koby!  I feel so lucky to have you in my life.  I am always inspired by your creativity, generosity, and most of all your amazing joy and zest for life!  It is so much fun to get to spend time with you.  Thank you for always sharing your family and home with me on many occasions...and many holidays!   I hope your special day is filled with lots of fun, friends, and family.
Love,
Maddie

Love, Maggie & Lily

Maggie: Wait, I'm confused. 60?! That just can't be. You don't look a day over 9.
Lily: Treat? Did you say treat?
Maggie: Lily, aren't we lucky to have such a cool mom?
Lily: [wags tail]
Maggie: She's just so fun. And she's nice to us. Remember that one time when she dressed up like us and we walked through Edison?
Lily: WALK! Yes, yes, where's my pink lease? I need my raincoat too; I don't want to mess up my hair.
Maggie: [whispers to Mom] Shhh, between you and me, Lily may have gotten the beauty, but not the brains.

Happy Birthday, Mom! We love you!

Woof,
Maggie & Lily

A long time ago we were having a women's weekend at Margot Lloyd's beach cabin - only accessible by boat. Most everybody headed out Friday night but I couldn't come until Saturday. I get a phone call at 7:00 Friday night - your mother had already finished her magnum (hence the name "Maggie") of wine & wanted me to bring her more the next day. Two more to be exact. I did which made for an interesting trip as I came over on the Secret Harbor "bad boys" boat the next day, clinking all the way... So, Cheers and Happy Birthday, Maggie!

Koby Koby Koby, how could I NOT jump at the chance to wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Since I pretty much went to every dance with your daughter I think that makes you my High School Mother-In-Law and I couldn't have asked for a better one. You're such a incredible person to be around. The support and love you gave to me and our group of friends was endless. I hope you have a crazy fun birthday surrounded by family and friends!

Wow, Koby is 60!
Somehow that doesn't seem possible that we are all getting older as it seems like it was just yesterday that we were raising our kids!  You have been such a great friend and sister over the years that it seems like you have always been a 'Peterson'.  We love you so much and we are so thankful you are in our lives.  Thanks for taking such good care of our brother and making him so happy.  So here's to the next 60 years?!?!  Well........maybe not 60 but here's to many more happy healthy years ahead!  Happy Birthday Koby!!  Love you more...
Jeanie & Butch

Hi my dear, dear best friend since 7th grade!!! I wish you the happiest of birthdays ever!!! You look fabulous and as pretty as ever! I know that I did not handle my 60th, which was just last month, very well. In fact, I hated it!!! But it has been a month and I realized I don't feel any older, in fact the opposite is true, I feel great. The saying goes, "If you didn't know how old you are, how old would you be?" I'd say I feel about 40!!! Well, maybe 50 on some days, but absolutely not 60!!

To the next order of business, we were suppose to post a picture and tell some dirt on you!!! Well, lady, you know what has been going on in my life lately, so no picture, and as for the dirt… I have decided that what happens between best friends… stays between best friends. So the "dirt" is safe with me lady! I know that you know that I love you very much! You have been there for me through good and bad and I know that it will be that way for the rest of our lives, however long God says that will be. So have a wonderful birthday and I hope I will be sharing some part of it with you. Looking forward to South Carolina! Where… What happens in S. Carolina… will stay in S. Carolina.

Love ya, Donna

I remember one of our sleepovers in high school... you know, the kind where all 4 of us girls would sleep in the bed downstairs together and spend the whole night giggling... We had a lot of friends over that night, and we were upstairs in the living room playing games. We decided to play telephone, and sat around in a big circle. I'll never forget the laughs we had. You joined in on the fun, and we could never get around the whole circle without bursting out in laughter. You were such a joyful and loving mother to have with us at our gatherings. We were a just a bunch of high school kids, blessed to have extra moms in our lives, you being one of the best! Thank you for always taking the time to take care of all of us. I remember cooking in your kitchen, camping with your family (getting in trouble for dissapearing while camping with your family), 4th of July celebrations, Christmas gatherings, and so much more!

Happy 60th birthday, I love you! Love, Merith

Happy Birthday to a special friend, who can never be repaid for all she does for others! Thanks for all the laughs---I think the first really big laugh we had was at a Lemon Drop party I hosted--good thing Erika was there! :) Thanks for all the gifts you have given, some for a reason, and others just because! Thanks for remaking all of my necklaces :) I'm quite sure you've rethreaded each necklace at least once! Thanks for all of your help at school--with a smile--at least in front of me..haha. And especially thanks for your friendship. You are a one of a kind friend!

I found my sister, Koby in 1988 right before I was to be 40. At that time, I did not realize that I would meet the person who would change my life for the better. Koby has grounded me in my heritage, shown me unconditional love and flown with me to creative heights. I am incredibly lucky to have found such a real soul mate. Koby takes big gulps of life. She is 'there' for you in any situation. Koby is loyal beyond belief. She is wide eyed, enthusiastic, joyful, so funny and so full of energy. I cannot thank you enough for turning 60 and continuing this great journey with me.

As the saying goes, "Chance made us sisters, Life made us friends".

I love you, Jo
